Welcome to Wycliffe School of Theology!
Wycliffe School of Theology is a dynamic distance learning theological college and seminary committed to making theological education and ministry formation accessible to a wide range of students. By leveraging the power of modern technology, Wycliffe allows individuals to engage in comprehensive academic and spiritual formation from the convenience of their own homes, breaking down the barriers traditionally associated with theological training. Whether you are an aspiring pastor, lay leader, or someone simply seeking to deepen your understanding of the Christian faith, Wycliffe offers a flexible, high-quality program that integrates rigorous academic study with practical ministry skills. With a focus on fostering a deep relationship with God, a commitment to biblical truth, and a passion for serving the church and the wider world, Wycliffe School of Theology aims to equip students to live out their faith with knowledge, integrity, and compassion.
Wycliffe School of Theology was founded in 2016 under the original name of Luder-Wycliffe Theological Seminary by Dr. Jack Nelson, a visionary leader deeply committed to making theological education accessible and affordable. Jack’s goal was to create a program that would not only uphold strong academic standards but also support men and women seeking to answer God’s call on their lives—whether through pastoral leadership, ministry, or other forms of service to the church and community.
Dr. Nelson’s vision was clear: to provide a pathway for those with a passion for serving God, without the financial burden that often comes with pursuing seminary education. He sought to make quality theological training available to anyone willing to dedicate themselves to this sacred pursuit.
Under Jack’s leadership, Wycliffe grew into a respected institution, offering a blend of sound theological education and practical ministry training. Unfortunately, Dr. Nelson passed away in June 2023, but his legacy lives on in the work and mission of the school. His dedication to equipping individuals for service in God’s kingdom continues to guide the school’s mission today.
At Wycliffe, we carry on Jack’s work by continuing to educate, train, and encourage men and women to serve the Lord with knowledge, compassion, and commitment. We honor his memory by upholding the values he instilled in us: a deep commitment to biblical truth, academic excellence, and a heart for ministry. As we move forward, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide accessible theological education that prepares students to faithfully follow God’s call and impact the world for Christ.
